Guestbook

We had a week last year and 10 days this year and plan a fortnight next year! The bird life has been full of variety with woodpeckers, jays, chaffinches, tits and evening visits from an owl, swooping and circling.

Claire and Craig,

Such a magical place. Our 6th stay and it just gets better and better. Air so clean and so very quiet except for the wildlife noises!

Sue and Shane,

There are very few places where you can walk for 10 miles with seeing a soul. Just beautiful. Thank you for sharing this magical place!

Ruth,

We have had an absolutely wonderful time. We hiked up the nearby hills with the dogs and played in the stream. We loved the cottage and would have stayed longer if we could. We will definitely be back!

Katie and Matt,

We have paddled in the stream and watched the birds of prey from he peaceful conservatory, relaxed in the hammock with good books and rambled with absolute delight!

Joe and Leanne,

From start to finish it has been absolutely amazing. The scenery has been breath-taking!

Shane and Muminola,

The total seclusion with views to die for made for a perfect stay.

Deb and Bill,

A very beautiful and peaceful experience - so relaxing. We had a lovely time here.

Anna and Mark,

At the cottage we have seen kestrels, kites, green woodpeckers, great woodpeckers, siskins, lesser redpolls, jays, sparrowhawks, pied wagtails, house martins, chaffinches, sparrows, song thrushes, robins and blackbirds.....

Ed and Anne,

Our first visit to Little Pudding Cottage and we can see why it is so popular. Lots of r&r, walking and enjoying the surrounding views. Incredibly sad to be leaving.

Caitlin and Richard,

Another incredible stay at Pontbren Ddu matched by glorious and unexpected sunshine. Cannot wait to come back to the peace and beauty of this place.

Lucinda and Tom,

We have had the best, most relaxing week - even the rain couldn't spoil it. We spent most of our time in the conservatory - who needs TV with that view!

Gem and Stuart,

We were very lucky with the weather and watching the lambs from the conservatory was a constant source of entertainment. The cottage is lovely and cosy and amazingly peaceful and no mobile signal (great!).

Jane and Roger,

This was our first visit and we really enjoyed out time here. The secluded spot fits us like a glove. The views are fantastic and sitting in the evening with the fire roaring is heavenly.

Ryan and Eleri,

Loved the cottage and its isolation. We have had a very relaxing week with plenty of walks from the door and slightly further afield.

Paul and Sue,

We had a wonderful stay at Little Pudding Cottage The surrounding hills are gorgeous and and the rugged landscape is really breathtaking. We will definitely return!

Toby, Jake, Edwina, Lawrence and Brownie the dog,

We have had the most amazing time away celebrating Christmas at Little Pudding Cottage. What an incredible place! Amazing views, wildlife and a lovely place to spend time with family, and make memories to keep for a lifetime. We will definitely be recommending LPC to friends and family!

Sarah, Chris, Jessica, James and Libby,

Our first time here and 'wow' what a place to reboot and relax. Sad to go but we will be back!

Lisa and Helmar,

We had a fantastic time at the cottage - incredible views, walks and wildlife. Cosy and homely - we loved it here and booked another stay for next year already!

Craig and Claire,

The perfect honeymoon destination - thank you!

Ed and Anne,

Little Pudding Cottage is fabulous! I love the setting, the nature, the walks and the cosy cottage. Totally exceeded expectations!

Caro and Alison,

Wow! What an amazing place.... a wonderful place to get away from everything.

Carlton and Seleana,

This was our 3rd time to LPC and we love the peace and tranquility so much. It is truly a hidden gem and we couldn't recommend it enough.

Bridie and Aaren,

Thanks so much for letting us stay in your adorable cottage. Everything about the cottage is perfect - we will definitely be back again!

Bev and John,

We will be back to LPC - winter up here has been so relaxing and peaceful. Loved every minute. The un-serviced arrangement of the cottage makes complete sense...

Philip and Sarah,

Our third time at LPC and as per usual, total peace and quiet. It has done nothing but rain but that doesn't matter, it's the beauty and tranquility that make the place so memorable.

Duncan and Kristina,

What a beautiful place. The cottage, the scenery, the wildlife....the silence! Views are absolutely fantastic and we were lucky enough to see the wild horses at Drum Ddu.

Beth and Jon,

It is a dream staying at this cottage and am so thankful and lucky to be able to. Thank you so much for sharing with us.

Rhonda and Mark,

Amazing location and one of the most scenic cottages we have stayed at.

Marie and Andy,

Such a beautiful cottage in stunning surroundings. We've had the perfect stay! Everything so well thought out.

Anne and Rob,

What a wonderful place to stay here in the natural beauty of the Cambrian mountains. We arrived to the sound of sheep being brought down by the shepherds and dogs... then more spectacularly two drovers on horseback with their dogs headed up over the moorland opposite. For a while they were silhouetted against the skyline by the fading sun...

Clive and Helen,

Where to start? The first thing that blew our minds is the wildlife in the garden. Without even having to move from the sofa in the conservatory we were able to enjoy and see so many different animals. Philip the pheasant is definitely the main character in the garden show. Confident and absolutely gorgeous... we even fed him with our hands which was absolutely magical. There are stunning walks straight from the cottage so you don't need to use your car if you bring all the food you need with you for your stay. This is the most remote, quiet and peaceful stay we have ever found.

Chris,

Little Pudding Cottage is full of amazing, stunning views, awesome scenery, full of rams and lambs and ewes. Fascinating mountain walks full of refreshing mountain air, red kites swooping low and babbling streams full of creatures galore, tadpoles, newts and fish and so much more!

Rob,

Had a great week here and with fantastic weather. Saw a black redstart - a first! Great views and a lovely cottage.

ALyson,

Loved the cottage as soon as we saw it and even more once we were inside. The conservatory was a favourite room and watching Philip and the other birds eating and flying around. It was warm and cosy and had everything we needed. We'll be back soon!

Roy,

The cottage exceeded all expectations. We loved the location, the wildlife and how cosy the cottage is. We are already looking at dates to return.

Lauren,

From the moment I drove up the track to the cottage I knew this was up my street - OMG! WOW! Lovely quirky cottage, views to die for and totally remote and unspoiled.... not a sound at night, pitch black other than the moon for light.

Colin,

Spent our days going for some beautiful walks (and of course getting lost!) and our evenings in front of the fire. We loved it so much that we have already booked to stay again!

Rachel,

LPC is like no other cottage. It is a beautiful, calming idyll set in the most stunning location. Fantastic!

Andrew,

This time spent 2 weeks at LPC and has been a holiday to remember forever. What an amazing place, wildlife and birds everywhere. Mist and rain across the mountains, the absolute silence and peacefulness.

Sue,

We love LPC! Definitely plan to stay for longer next time. Such a gorgeous place to come and escape from it all.

Will,

Our first but definitely not last stay at LPC. The break from everything we all needed. Such an amazing cottage and surroundings.

Layla,

What a beautiful, peaceful, blissful cottage this is. We are so at home here, so relaxed and rested.

Tess,

We had such an incredible few days at LPC. We ventured out to the coast and had lunch in Aberaeron, which is a gorgeous little sleepy seaside village full of colourful houses and coffee shops galore.

Hannah, Steffan and Archie,

We have had an amazing holiday here. Thank you for sharing this little piece of heaven. The walks are amazing too!

Rhonda, Mark, Matthew and Emily,

Our first visit to LPC and hopefully not our last. We've had a wonderful stay here, filled with plenty of walks, family time and laughter.

Sarah, Jon, Saphina and Jack,

A lovely weekend getaway after the lockdown and constant fireworks. Perfect tranquil location to recharge and enjoy nature with the family and dog. Especially enjoyed coming into the cottage after a long walk and sitting in front of the fire. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Amy,

Wonderful three days here in a beautiful part of Wales. The bird life from the conservatory is amazing - 22 species of bird including sparrowhawk, chiffchaff and two snipe on Rhos Saith Maen! Large flocks of migrating Fieldfare and Redwing have been passing over in the last couple of days, often landing in the fir trees behind the barn and cackling loudly!

Nigel,

Wow - such a wonderful home in every way. Thank you so much Jon...a complete tonic for busy lives!

Victoria,

A lovely cosy property in a stunningly beautiful, isolated location where moorland and hill walks straight from the door of the cottage were a big attraction for us. A stay at Little Pudding Cottage is a good introduction to living off grid, Jon has put a great deal of effort into making a stay here an unforgettable experience.

Nigel,

We have stayed at Little Pudding Cottage twice now and absolutely love it! It's an amazing house in a great location. If you want to get away from everything this is the place to go. Fantastic walks and scenery right from the doorstep and we saw the wild horses in the hills!

Anna,

Just a stunning place to get some R&R, the cottage is fantastically well equipped and the only company you'll get is the odd pheasant and plenty of sheep. So if you want great scenery, totally off the beaten track, this is the place for you.

Duncan,

Lovely house and location. very clean, quiet and beautiful once again.

Jan,

Little Pudding Cottage is a gorgeous get away in idyllic countryside without another person in sight! Comfortable and cosy with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. We really enjoyed the scenic walks right from the doorstep and how easy it is to get to other beautiful bits of Wales. We will definitely consider going again and would recommend to others for sure!

Harriet,

This is a truly special place to stay. Fabulous views, a lovely home and a peaceful retreat from the demands of everyday life. It is quiet, restful and welcoming. Perfect!!

Teresa,

I would like to say this is the best cottage we have ever stayed at .Such a wonderful place to reset away from the modern world , we really enjoyed the remote location and amazing walks from the door . We spotted wild horses on the moor from the cottage ! LPC is our idea of heaven and we hope to be lucky enough to return time and time again .

Jon,

Believe the reviews, this is a fabulous cozy cottage in the most stunning location. The weather was against us but we still managed walks from the front door every day. We were lucky enough to meet the brother of a chap who was born in LPC in the 40s and they both used to shepherd here. Great stories, great landscape, great place all round. Enjoy.

Jodie,

This cottage is perfect, amazing views, comfortable , homely and interesting. It’s off grid without sacrificing any comfort , we loved it !

Jenny,

Just what we needed, peace and quiet. So relaxing, will definitely be back...

Sarah and Craig,

Love, love, love LPC!

Mell and Rich,

Absolutely perfect! Thoroughly rested.

Sally and Tim,

Wow! The views are awe-inspiring. I've sketched every day. Don't even need to leave the cottage as the conservatory gives loads of views to paint!

Tess and Ember,

What an absolute gem of a place! We have so enjoyed the comfort of the cottage and the solitude of the surroundings.

Alison,

We fell in love with the cottage and surroundings as soon as we arrived. We had great weather throughout and enjoyed walking, playing cards and reading.

Claire and Nick,

5* A lovely place to stay

John,

Love this place as it is the perfect place to relax and our dogs love it too. The views are amazing and I have never seen as many stars! The log burner is cosy and I love that it is all eco friendly. There are some lovely walks and lovely places to visit around.

Mell,

A magical place to stay we loved it!

Lizzie,

We have so enjoyed our calm stay here. We've loved the seclusion and quiet, having not seen another soul for the time we have been here apart from some lovely birds, horses, sheep and Philip of course who ate from our hands! The setting is incredible and the cottage cosy... The countryside is stunning - purples, greens and oranges. Feel very lucky to have visited here.

El and Mike,

We've had a lovely week in this cosy cottage. The weather was very kind to us with sunshine every day. Philip was a regular visitor and brought his wives! Stunning scenery everywhere you look especially with the lovely autumn colours.

Derek and Pam,

Set in beautiful surroundings this cottage exceeds all expectations

Mike,

Amazing and unique. Enjoyed every second of our stay. What an amazing setting and lovely weekend. Would love to stay longer. Thank you both for letting us enjoy the cottage.

Murray,

Beautiful cottage, beautiful setting with the most stunning scenery - we feel like we have found our paradise!

Murray and Aimee,

Perfect for us in every way. Loved the layout of the cottage, cosy but enough space with two great spaces to sit in - the cosy sitting room and the light and bright conservatory.... We painted the wonderful scenes from the conservatory. It felt amazing to then walk in the direction of where we had painted!

Susie,

Little Pudding Cottage is a little oasis of perfection in the most stunning location. Perfect for getting away from it all but with the benefit of all mod cons. We can't wait to return.

Kate,

Really beautiful setting, we have had a wonderful time. The cottage is even prettier than in the photos and all facilities were clean and well stocked. Great information provided on how to use everything. Lovely walks - we spotted the wild horses and enjoyed watching nature do its thing from the garden and lovely conservatory space.

Craig,

Location is spectacular; the views from the cottages conservatory have to be seen to be believed, easy access to local walks.

Michael,

Little Pudding Cottage is one of the best cottages available. Jon's directions, careful attention to detail and helpful notes make the stay at LPC wonderful. The cottage is remote! Cut off from phone signal and the modern world, the log burner and tranquil surroundings allow you to de-stress and just really enjoy yourself. The cottage is very well equipped, warm and has everything you need for a few days away. Walks up on the moor up to the trig-point our well worth a visit, but take a good waterproof, walking boots and a flask of something warm :) Had a cheeky visit from Phil (the pheasant) and a host of garden birds and of course red kits soaring above. Jon, this place is a real GEM! We will be back, and I urge anyone viewing this post to just book straight away...you will not be disappointed. 5*

Edward,

A little piece of paradise in Wales...views were breathtaking, abundance of wildlife around including our regular visits from Philip the pheasant and his wife. A mixture of activity and relaxation - a perfect holiday.

Amanda,

An absolutely superb place in a stunning location. Jon has gone to great lengths and detail to make sure that this "off-grid" cottage delivers maximum comfort and delight. Loved every minute of it and would thoroughly recommend.

Phil,

We loved this place so much that when we arrived we booked an extra night! The cottage is lovely and quiet, great for walking of sitting by the fire reading. The conservatory made the cottage for us and we spent lovely afternoons watching the rain fall with a good book and a cup of tea. Ideal if you want to get away from it all - would highly recommend.

Nichola,

A very special cottage and location. Off-grid but no hassle. Jon gives great instructions and the cottage is set up brilliantly and is very comfortable and practical. There are numerous two how easily navigable walks that get you high with great views and wildlife. If the weather is bad, you can sit cosily in the conservatory surrounded by an amphitheatre of mountain moor and watch each wave of weather come through. The cottage is warm, clean, cosy and full of character.

Mary ,

If you want to get away from it all, this is the place! Quite remarkable. Grand vistas, wine and log fires, local wildlife and utter darkness at night. Great memories!

Steve,

Extremely remote & private, but don’t be put off; that’s exactly why this cosy bolthole is so very special! Everything you could possibly need is there to make your stay a comfortable one!!!!! Can’t wait to go again! xxx

Beverley,

Jon’s cottage is as described and more! Best place to get away from it all and recoup from our busy lifestyle. We even spent a day hiking in the surrounding space and it was breathtaking. We also got to see Philip and his girlfriend on the last day too which was the cherry on top of a very large cake

May,

Wow!! Little Pudding was an utter delight. What a gem ! Exceeded my already high expectations. In the most beautiful setting, offering vast open space, big skies, great wildlife , stunning colours, pitch dark nights and so beautifully peaceful. The only sounds were birdsong and bleating from the local sheep. Exceptionally cosy and homely and very well equipped too.

Michelle,

Perfection. Jon sent us a welcome pack with thorough information on the cottage and surrounding towns. The feeling of isolation and being in the wilderness was up there with our best experience in the UK. Highly recommend this cottage to escape the hustle and bustle of modern life! Thanks Jon

Marc,

The cottage was exactly as described, and more. The conservatory looks out onto gorgeous views and we enjoyed watching the farmers herd the sheep, red kites fly past, and delighted in feeding Phil the Pheasant by hand! He came to visit multiple times a day. The skies were clear in the evenings and so we were able to lie outside and see so many stars!!!! Just beautiful. The cottage is stocked with so many bits and pieces (oil, spices, cutlery, chopping boards) in the kitchen, board games in the living room, candles everywhere, torches in the drawers. My five year old loved the swing in the garden! Really thorough instructions were left by Jon, so everything worked out really well. We would definitely come back and visit again. Ideal for peace, quiet (as long as you don't mind the sound of sheep :)) and beautiful views of the mountains.

Sian,

What an absolutely beautiful place! The cottage is gorgeous and has everything you need, so romantic! So amazing to be able to walk out of the front door and be surrounded by beautiful countryside (only Philip the pheasant and the local sheep for company)...you relax the moment you step out of the car. The cottage itself is so lovely inside with a lovely big wood burner...the conservatory is light and warm and looks out across the valley. It doesn't matter if it rains because the countryside is so beautiful, just don your waterproofs and go out anyway, or just cosy up in the cottage (it's so gorgeous you almost want it to rain so you can stay inside!)...loads of books to read, board games to play and DVDs to watch. We went for a walk in the nearest forest, lovely views back across the valley to see Little Pudding Cottage in the distance, nestled away all on it's own. Simply stunning...and we can't wait to go back - 3 days were not nearly long enough!

Louise,

What a lovely little cottage, wonderfully tranquil, beautiful scenery, well placed for visits to Rhayader and the Elan Valley, and amazing for relaxing in. The cottage has everything we need, and the instructions from John made everything a breeze. We'd love to come back!

Tom,

We had a truly wonderful stay at Little Pudding Cottage. There is an amazing selection of wildlife on the doorstep and I even had Philip the resident pheasant eating out of my hand! We enjoyed plenty of time spent in the conservatory watching the kites overhead and even saw a Jay visit the garden. On our last night we ate at the Red Lion, we were made to feel very welcome and filled up on some proper pub grub before heading back to snuggle up in the sofa with a bottle of bubbly and a film. Perfection. We will definitely recommend Little Pudding Cottage to all our friends and family.

Beth,

If you want to experience the mystical Welsh hills, enjoy complete solitude away from busy everyday life, whilst feeling cosy and comfortable Little Pudding Cottage is the perfect place to go. It is hard to express the utter joy and wonders of the place in just a few words. The perfect place to stay to read and just 'be' as you can sit in the gorgeous garden which is completely surrounded by wonderful hills, or you can go exploring on foot as there are walks in all directions around LPC. Including long challenging day walks into the Cambrian mountains. The cottage is so very cosy with everything you need to have a relaxed home from home stay. Lovely cosy bedrooms, a lounge with a wood burner and a kitchen equipped with everything to make nice meals. A highlight is the conservatory at the back which you can sit in and enjoy the changing weather and feel part of the scenery. It would be wonderful for star gazing.

Anna,

I have had a fantastic weekend. The cottage is magical. We love the birds and wildlife and the cottage is the perfect place for it.
I can honestly say it is a wonderful location, so peaceful and relaxing...

Tony,

An amazing place to escape the busyness of modern life. If you want a location that allows you to relax completely in tranquil surroundings then look no further than Little Pudding Cottage. The accommodation is quirky and cosy yet surprisingly spacious for a cottage, and the conservatory is a great additional space, allowing you to take in the landscape and the surrounding nature even on a wet and cloudy day! This is also a great place to explore the surrounding area which has wonderful lakeside and mountain walks to enjoy.

Bleddyn,

Anna,

Such a stunning and well equipped stay..we loved it! What a beautiful place. It has everything you need and is so secluded. The walks around the area were thoughtfully well mapped. There are some gems in the surrounding area as well such as the hidden waterfalls in the Rheadr Forest and the national trust goldmine is well worth a visit. The beds were comfortable, it was divine to have a log fire in the evening and a telescope to stargaze! The garden is beautiful and there were the masses of garden birds. We will be back!

Kylea,

WOW - what can we say? Beautiful cottage, amazing scenery, and a perfect stay. We enjoyed the conservatory and watching all the lambs in the fields - reading our books and enjoying a great stay away. We will certainly book again. The local pub - The Red Lion - was really friendly and did a steak night the evening we went there - hearty food, good value. Great communication with Jon - thanks so much for picking up our messages and wishing us a lovely time. Everything you need is in the cottage, including local OS maps, binoculars, walking guides... we climbed some of the local hills with our girlies! Loved the real fire in the wood burner.

Jacobus,

As soon as we arrived we were amazed with how pretty your cottage is. It is in a peaceful location and wonderful for our dogs to explore securely in the garden. Opening the blinds of the conservatory to see the breath-taking views of the hills made us sit and just enjoy it! Thank you for a perfect retreat from our busy lives.. P.S. We think Philip the pheasant has a girlfriend!

Julie, Jay and Poppy,

Absolutely stunning! Breathtaking in fact. The nicest cottage and area I've ever stayed in this country. Thank you so much!

James,

The pictures on the internet do not do justice to the wonderful cottage. The location is fantastic, the cottage cosy and warm and the night sky is breathtaking. The best place I have found yet for a few days away from the rat-race to recharge my batteries and clear my head. Will definitely be back!

Pat and Martin,

We stayed in Little Pudding Cottage for 10 days. It was one of the most relaxing holidays I have ever had. It really felt like a month or more and we returned to Germany feeling fresh and rested.

The cottage is so cosy and beautiful (like a hobbit house!), very well maintained, clean and with everything that we needed. We felt at home immediately. We loved the alternative energy solutions and the sustainable household. The garden is very spacious and well taken cared of, with this beautiful little summerhouse and 3 big fat trees. We enjoyed being lazy on the grass under the sun or the gorgeous trees reading books.

Our dog was very happy to finally have a garden on his own and as the cottage has a proper fence, he was safely running around on the grass. The cottage is situated in a small hill after a 10 minute drive from the main road, passing some other farms and cottages but it is really private and remote. The surrounding area is so beautiful, peaceful and quiet.

We took long walks in the surrounding hills and visited the beautiful Elan valley. Because the cottage is situated in mid Wales, we could also go for day tours to Snowdonia and the south of Wales. The cottage is good for amateur astronomy as well, relatively low light pollution and we were lucky with the weather.

If you want to keep a cosy little cottage for a while, in a tranquil and beautiful area, away from the threat of incoming email, this is the place!!

Christina, Germany

I just wanted to say thank you so much for a wonderful stay at Little Pudding Cottage. It’s the kind of place I dreamt of as a little girl. :o) I think it’s the nicest place I have ever stayed at and so nice to be away from people!! I can’t begin to tell you what a fantastic place you have.

We had no idea the cottage was that remote and had such brilliant views every where you turn! We feel so relaxed after our stay.

We will telling all our friends and family about it – our should we keep it our secret ? Ha. We will be booking up again.

Kerry

Just wanted to say how much we enjoyed last week. The cottage is just lovely and the setting simply breathtaking. We had a real mix of weather but that just added to the memories and the wildlife in the garden was quite something – our soggy sparrows, blackbirds and starlings dont offer quite the same magic as siskin, red starts, great spot, jay and gold finch all at the same time not to mention kite and buzzards overhead

Louise and Sean

We needed somewhere to chill out and switch off where the phone wouldn’t ring, the doorbell would be silent and there would be no junk mail. Little Pudding fulfills all of this and more. After an exhausting week with our Music Festival and then a village fete we just needed to get away. We knew from our previous visit that Little Pudding was the place to go. It is quiet if you want it to be – there are sheep and birds. We slept like logs in the comfy bed and relaxed in front of the wood burner out of the wind and rain. We needed nothing more. Many thanks!

Jenny and Rodney

Thank you for a perfect break – it was amazing – we really do love the cottage, it’s like being at home away from home!
What a delightfully relaxing cottage in a beautiful area. We have had the break we were looking for, so much so I wish we were staying longer!

Lorna and Dave

We had a wonderful holiday aided hugely by the fantastic weather. Sunshine aside, Little Pudding Cottage is a fantastic property. We felt at home the moment we walked through the door. Great time and effort has been put into making this cottage feel warm and cosy. The attention to detail fantastic. There was an abundant supply of literature about what to do in the local area, plenty of maps for walking, books etc. The welcome booklet was well written and instructions and guidance succinct and well written. The kitchen well appointed, bedrooms cosy and beds very comfortable – what more could you ask for. From the point of view of our children, there was a good selection of games (both indoor and outside fun!), puzzles, craft material and DVDs. For the dogs, bowls and dog bed were supplied. As I said, attention to detail which makes for an easy and completely relaxing stay. The location of the cottage could not be more magnificent and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it anyone. Paradise hidden amongst the lambs and rolling hills.”

Emma and Family

We have had a truly magical stay here in Little Pudding Cottage. We have figuratively and literally been wrapped in a warm blanket for the whole stay. It has been lovely. We loved all the lovely finishing touches – the beautiful pictures on the walls, all the handmade crafts and the care and attention that has gone into this home – it made us feel surrounded by care. We loved the beautiful countryside – hills all around! Our stay was perfect! The most wonderful Christmas. Thank you!

Danielle, Martine and friends

From the moment we arrived we fell in love with Little Pudding Cottage and all she had to offer. From the welcoming warmth of the fire after a days walking to the fantastic array of family games which we all enjoyed each day. We had no end of things to see and do at the cottage with the large array of birds visiting the garden and the buzzard who perched each evening on the posts along the driveway. We whiled away hours of time playing Pooh sticks in the stream and walking up and down the local hills. We were an hour away from Brecon and the coast so this is really the ideal spot to be able to enjoy the beauty and tranquillity the cottage offers but within a reasonable distance to lots of other places. We all loved the special family time this holiday created and the wonderful haven that is Little Pudding Cottage. We all want to return and the girls have talked non stop about our “Pudding Lane” adventures and many friends who have seen our photos all want to go too..

Suzi, Steve, Phoebe and Daisy

Our stay at Little Pudding Cottage was simply delightful! This beautiful character cottage nestled in the Welsh hills is the ultimate experience for being unplugged, off-grid and away from it all. There is nothing primitive here though. Beneath the rustic charm lies the best in renewable technology to keep you warm, comfortable and connected to some of those luxuries that make a holiday just perfect.

For us Little Pudding Cottage ticks all the boxes. Highly recommended for the stressed executive, nature lover, or family that just wants fun, freedom and a chance to reconnect with the finer values of life again.

Richard, Rachelle and Verona

Its been a great stay. The cottage feels very warm and welcoming and there is absolutely everything you could ever need. Being away from the world in such a special place has been fantastic.

Gavin and Marie

Thank you for letting us stay in Pontbren, its a lovely place. Phillip paid a couple of visits for his dinner, followed by a hedgehog, nuthatch, woodpecker and many others…lovely. Even a couple of hen harriers were about. Archie the dog was over the moon with the place and treats. Thanks for everything you did for us.

Steve, Liz and Archie

Perfect peace for three tired teachers in such a wonderful setting. Fantastic place you have and the hospitality very much appreciated. Will certainly recommend you to others and be back ourselves.

Andy, Leon and Richard

Thank you for sharing Pontbren with us. We had a lovely weekend even the weather was good until Tuesday. The situation of the cottage is a dream come true in the middle of such beautiful countryside. Even without the views the cottage would still be ideal; it is so homely and welcoming and the log fire is excellent, who would have thought that we would need it in August!! The welcome pack was also much appreciated. All the best with the venture and we hope to stay again.

Roger and Kathleen

We will remember Pontbren, where we took our first holiday as a new family, as a magical place. The solitude and the comfort of the cottage made an unbeatable combination. The wood burner, the stunning views, the attention to detail and of course our friendly guest Phil the pheasant all added up to make it a place we hope to come back to in years to come.

Lyndon, Caitlyn and Matilda

You could not have described it better, complete stress free seclusion! Thank you for the organic welcome pack – much appreciated. Although it has only been 4 nights, I feel my batteries have been well charged! Hopefully I’ll be able to return soon. Many thanks. PS. Zippy the poodle adored the fire – sat in front of it all the time!

Naomi

What a brilliant week – we have loved the isolation of the cottage and the beautiful surroundings. We are proud to say we haven't needed to use the car once and have spent all of our time walking in the surrounding hills. The cottage is super, a little gem and we have loved spending New Year here away from it all.

Steve, Jo, Evie and Diggy the Dog

Many thanks for our holiday at Pontbren. What a perfect location, we has a wonderful ‘escape’. Highlights were watching the rounding up of sheep from the hills, helping with the sheep dipping, bird watching (including feeding Phillip of course), visits to the Elan Valley, Tregoran and climbing Y Gamriau. We also hugely enjoyed roaring log fires and cosy nights in. Thank you both so much, all in all its been the best holiday I’ve had (barring possibly my honeymoon!!).

Maddy and Andrew

What a wonderful cottage, such a warm welcome from you, thank you. We have had a lovely time, only wish it could be longer, but we shall return. Thank you for all the little extras you do that make the stay more homely, even the dog has felt at home here. Such wonderful wildlife here too, sparrowhawks, red kites, buzzards, coal tits…a true spotters paradise. Thanks again for a wonderful break, just what we needed.

You really should have warned us…4 days were not enough! We have loved every minute of our stay. The weather has been perfect. Such beautiful surroundings. Autumn is the best time in Wales. Colours and shades are inspiring. We could have easily stayed in the cottage all the time and still felt we had had a holiday. Hoping to return very soon. Much refreshed

This is the cottage and location we’ve been looking for for years! Nothing beats walking on the hills, straight from the door with nothing but sheep and red kites to keep us company. Then coming back to a welcoming and comfortable cottage. We hope to be back soon.

Oh my! What a wonderful escape from London this has been. A perfect little hideaway. Such care and attention has been shown in the cottage and such a perfect, well stocked kitchen for hearty home cooked meals to the no shortage of warm blankets, candles and fuel to warm those chilly toes after a day of walking. An idyllic cottage in such peaceful surroundings. Thank you for a lovely week
